Controller Overview
The description of the standard does not claim to be in absolute compliance with the official documentation, it is our interpretation with its own hardware and software implementation.
CHAdeMO standard v0.9, v1.1 has a limitation: Vmax ≤ 500V, Imax ≤ 125A, Pmax ≤ 62.5 kW.
- FG — Ground, reference for control lines
- SS1 / SS2 — Charge sequence signal, start/stop charging
- DCP — Charging enable, vehicle grants EVSE permission to connect power
- DC+ / DC- — DC power, supplied power
- PP — Connector proximity detection, charge interlock, disables drivetrain while connected
- C-H / C-L — CAN bus, communication with vehicle bus to establish operational parameters
Hardware
Software part
The exchange protocol is based on the CAN 2.0B standard specification, with an exchange rate of 500 kbit/s, and an 11-bit identifier.
In total, five message types with the following identifiers are involved in data exchange.
All these messages are present at all stages of the charging session (unlike the CCS2 and GB/T messages).
Despite its simplicity, charging station and vehicle manufacturers interpret the procedure differently depending on the situation. This is often due to the format of the official documentation.
Below is a table of messages for protocol version 1.1, in protocol version 0.9 there are minor differences, and these differences must be taken into account during software release.
